A truly wonderful statement piece - and just so handsome!
This is a Victorian Harvest Flagon of copper construction with VR in a crown stamp so dated to mid to late 1800's.
There is also a 2 gallon stamp upon its breast.
These flagons were used in the fields for refreshing the labourers and are sometimes also called Haystack Tavern Jugs.
The lack of age related dinks and marks makes this flagon a true rarity.
We simply adore the patina on this aged copper but know that it would be transformed with a polish if you so wish.
The flagon stands 36cm tall to the top of the handle with a diameter of aprox 33cm around its widest point.
We will be sad to say goodbye to this handsome fellow.
